Uploads
The DOOM Eternal Launcher has an entire page dedicated to managing user uploads. This page is located under the My Creations tab and its primary purpose is to:
- provide a realtime readout of the current upload queue
- add queue functionality to grant users greater control over how their pc's resources are used
- provide greater clarity/transparency into what is happening at all times during a upload
To create a mod users must meet the following requirements:
- be using a Steam-installed version of the DOOM Eternal Launcher
- have idStudio installed on disk
- have a valid BNET account
Queue list
Active
The Active section of the upload queue list shows the current active upload.
Queued
The Queued section of the upload queue list shows all uploads that are of the status QUEUED or IN PROGRESS. This section can contain items that are IN PROGRESS because if a upload is interrupted before it is completed (think app closed or internet loss); the current ACTIVE upload will be migrated to the IN PROGRESS section.
History
The History section of the upload queue list shows all uploads that have occurred; this is also where uploads that have FAILED appear. FAILED uploads can be retried by the user at any point while they are still in the history.
Queue actions
| Action | Description | |
|---|---|---|
Resume queue | Restarts the upload queue (from top to bottom) | Only available if there is no active upload && there are queued uploads |
Open logs | Opens the containing folder for the upload log file | Only available if there are historical items |
Clear logs | Deletes the contents of the upload log file | Only available if there are historical items |
When the application starts up, the upload queue is NOT automatically started; this is because:
- The user needs to be authenticated with valid bnet account before a upload can begin
- We did not want to use resources on startup that may or may not be available; having the user toggle this gives them better control over their own resources
