The My Creations page displays all of your "creations" that have been uploaded to the DOOM mod servers.
Mod States
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| Published | A "published" mod is one that has been published to the DOOM Mod servers. These mods are publicly available to all users and can be "unpublished" at any time to remove them from public access. |
| Has unpublished changes | When a mod is labeled with "has unpublished changes", this means that it is a "published" mod with several "unpublished" (draft) changes that are not public yet. These changes will not be visible until the mod is published again. |
| Draft | A "draft" mod is any content that has been uploaded to the DOOM Mod servers but has not been made publicly available via the "publishing" process. Only you, the mod author, has access to your "draft" mods. |
Mod State Changes
Making changes to your creations can, at times, become a little complex. While most actions are fairly self explanatory, there are some actions that will result in the creation changing its "state".
Actions that change a mod's state include:
| Action | Description | State Change |
|---|---|---|
| Publish | Publishes a mod | Mods with a Draft or Has unpublished changes status are moved to a Published status. |
| Unpublish | Unpublishes a mod | Mods with a Published status are moved to a Draft status. |
| Edit Mod Data | Edits a mod's value (title, overview, description, tags) | Mods with a Published status are moved to a Has unpublished changes status. |
| Add/Edit/Delete an Image | Adds, edits or deletes an image (icon, cover, screenshot) | Mods with a Published status are moved to a Has unpublished changes status. |
| Create/Edit/Delete a Release | Creates, edits or deletes a release from a mod | Mods with a Published status are moved to a Has unpublished changes status. |
Publishing a mod
You can publish your mod to make them "publicly available" on the DOOM mod servers.
All mods have an internal status on the mod servers. Only mods that are in a "has changes" or "draft" state with a status of Ready to publish are available for publishing.
| Mod Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Invalid status! | Indicates an invalid status. |
| Content created | Initial status of a newly created or updated mod. |
| Upload complete | All of the mod's release files have been uploaded. The mod remains in this status until the release has been validated by the mod servers. |
| Checking release content | The mod's release files are being checked by the mod servers. |
| Release check failed! | Indicates that an error occurred while checking the release files. |
| Release check timed out! | A timeout error occurred while checking the release files. This often happens when a release file is too large to be checked (max 2GB per file). |
| Metadata check failed! | Indicates failed metadata check on the mod data. |
| Metadata timedout! | Indicates a timeout occurred while checking mod data. |
| Ready to publish | This mod has been validated by the server and is ready to be published. |
| Published | This mod is published. |

Editing a Mod
When making updates to a mod's metadata, all changes are saved to a "draft" version of the mod. Think of this as a rough draft of your mod's data - this version is not visible to anyone but you, the mod author. To make any updates publicly available on the DOOM mod servers, the changes must be "published" through the publishing process.
Name
A mod's name is its visual identifier for users when they browse for your mod. A mod's name should be eye-catching, descriptive, and succinct.

Managing Mod Releases
Each release represents an individual version of the mod that can be downloaded by other users when published.
Each release of a mod has the following properties:
- A version
- A description
- Its release files
Creating a New Release
There are two ways to create a new release for a mod. The first method utilizes interactions between the DOOM Eternal Launcher and the idStudio development tools to create a new release for a mod. The second method leverages existing mod files on disk to directly create a release through the DOOM Eternal Launcher.
It should be noted that all mod releases should be packaged by the idStudio tools before being uploaded to the DOOM mod servers.
Without this packaging step, the DOOM Eternal engine cannot read/load/recognize the mod and it will not get loaded at play time.
From idStudio:
- Select your mod using the menu
Mods → Change current mod... → {{mod name}}. - Edit your mod using idStudio.
- Select the menu option
Mods → {{mod name}} → Package Mod...to package your mod using idStudio. - On the "Package Mod" dialog, select the files from the file tree to package into your mod.
- Click "Build Package".
- On the confirmation dialog, click "Upload" to start the DOOM Eternal Launcher's "Create release wizard".
- On the "new release wizard" in DOOM Eternal Launcher, enter data for:
- The release version
- The release description
- Once satisfied, click "Create release".
From the DOOM Eternal Launcher:
- Open the DOOM Eternal Launcher.
- Click on the My Creations tab.
- Sign into a valid Bethesda.net account.
- Click on the My Creations page.
- Select a mod from the mod list.
- Select the RELEASES section to open the mod's release data.
- Click the New Release button.
- On the new release dialog, enter data for:
- The release version
- The release description
- Select all required files for your mod using the Add individual files or Select existing mod folder buttons.
- Once satisfied, click the Upload files button to upload the release to the mod servers.
It is important to only upload files that have been packaged by idStudio to your mod release. Uploading loose files will result in a myriad of issues when launching a mod.
Editing Release Data
A release's version or description can be edited for "draft" mods.
Before editing any release data, you must make sure that the mod is not currently published. If the mod is published follow the unpublishing process.
To edit these release properties:
- Open the DOOM Eternal Launcher.

- Sign into a valid Bethesda.net account.
- Click on the My Creations page.
- Select a mod from the mod list.
- Select the RELEASES section to open the mod's release data.
- Click on the appropriate release "card" to expand its details.
- Click the Edit... button
- Select the Version or Release note option.
- Edit the value.
- Click Save changes.
Deleting a Release
Users can delete any release on their mods. This is often done to help mitigate confusion with old releases and clean up available versions of the mod.
Before deleting a release, you must make sure that the mod is not currently published. If the mod is published follow the unpublishing process.
To delete a release:
- Open the DOOM Eternal Launcher.
- Click on the My Creations tab.

- Click on the appropriate release "card" to expand its details.
- Click the Delete button
- On the confirmation dialog, click "Yes, delete release" to confirm its deletion.
Deleting a release is an extremely destructive action and cannot be easily recovered.
Please be sure you know what you are doing before selecting this option.
