Custom Light Rig - Static Model

A light rig is attached to a model to provide permanent lighting to monsters, weapons, or other models that require a minimum light level at all times.

Procedure

  1. In the Static Model Editor, open the Custom Light Rig section in the right pane.
  2. Click the folder button and open the default light rig decl.
  3. Copy the decl (click the copy button at right) and provide a descriptive name.
  4. Use the :heavy_plus_sign: button to add a new light to the Lights list.
    • Select the appropriate default riglight decl.
info

Light decls can be shared between light rigs. It's important to remember that any changes made to a light decl will propagate to all light rigs that contain the light decl. This can be helpful when creating multiple light maps for a certain class of monsters; for example, all light rigs for zombie-type monsters might share the same light decls.

warning

Avoid making edits to the default point light decl by creating a copy and renaming it for your use. Then select the original default light from the list and delete it.

  1. Select a light decl from the list and alter the properties as needed.
  2. Continue to add and edit light decls until the light rig is complete. Save when finished.
