We are so impressed with the DOOM Eternal community mods created without any official tools. They inspired us to release a public beta of idStudio for creators and an opt-in PC Mod Preview for players to easily browse and play mods. We can’t wait to see what this community does next!

PC Mod Preview​

DOOM Eternal Update 6.66 Rev 3 adds the ability for PC Steam and Microsoft Store community members to opt-in to DOOM Eternal: PC Mod Preview. This allows players to browse, download, and play mods.

idStudio Beta​

Only available on Steam, idStudio Beta allows community members to create and publish original mods for all Steam and Microsoft Store players who opt-in to the DOOM Eternal: PC Mod Preview.

Which platform(s) will DOOM Eternal Mods be available on?​

DOOM Eternal PC Mod Preview will be available on Steam (PC) and Microsoft Store (PC).

Which platform(s) will DOOM Eternal: idStudio (Beta) be available on?​

DOOM Eternal: idStudio (Beta) will be available on Steam (PC).

  1. Right-click on DOOM Eternal in the Steam Library and choose "Properties".
  2. From the Properties window select the tab titled "Betas".
  3. Choose "pc-mod-preview" from the dropdown menu (see below).
  4. Once you're done making your selection, close the properties window by selecting "Close".
    • Once the window is closed it will begin updating to the selected version if you've met the requirements.
